Summer of fun at Hope Nature Centre

7th July 2021

Hope Nature Centre, an Animal Park and Café just outside Trowbridge, is gearing up for a ‘Summer of fun’, as they plan a range of events to entertain families this July & August. Running daily from July 24th through to September 5th, you can experience their popular Goat Walks, Donkey ‘Meet & Greets’ and the new Birds, Bees & Bugs Experience.

The goat walks are one of the most popular events that run throughout the year, and during a 30-minute session, you will be introduced to your very own goat. Those partaking in the special event will get the opportunity to give their goat a groom before, having a stroll around the Animal Park with them. Guests will also learn key facts from the experienced Animal Park team. You can also enjoy a ‘meet and greet’ experience with the lovely Hope Nature Centre Donkeys; Dexter, Denzel and Dudley. You can get up close and say hello, feed and groom them, as well as learning a variety of interesting facts too.

Hope Nature Centre are also launching a brand-new educational experience, featuring a whole host of interesting birds, bees and bugs. The hour-long tour takes visitors on a behind the scenes look in the new Aviary, where they can learn about the various birds that call Hope Nature Centre home. As well as learning about the birds, visitors can handle chicks and help to look for eggs. After the birds, visitors head over to the on-site beehives, where they can learn all about the importance bees, and try honey made on-site. The experience finishes in the Woodland Walk, where participants will learn all about the different bugs living in the Hope Nature Centre ‘bug hotels’, as well as they are so important to the ecosystem.

Bookings are limited for each group to ensure it is a small hands-on experience. Event tickets also include entry to the Animal Park for the full day of your visit, so visitors can enjoy all the other animals and play areas after the event. There is also a Bank Holiday Funday planned on August 29th, featuring face-painting, animal petting, a BBQ and much more.
