2021 Construction update diary at Hope Nature Centre

14th January 2021

Although we’re currently closed to visitors due to lockdown, we taking the opportunity to push ahead with a variety of expansions and improvements. We are working with the amazing team at Liddiard Builders who are bringing these ideas to life. The team are working socially distanced, and following all the latest guidance, ensuring that the work can be completed safely.

Here are some updates on what’s been happening.

The Café is receiving some alterations, making space for some more seating, alongside fitting some new toilets. This space will add an extra 3 tables, meaning this should reduce queues for tables during peak periods. There is also a storage facility being added to our ‘back of house’ area too.

We are creating a brand new outdoor space which will contain undercover seating, alongside some new play equipment that can be enjoyed by Café visitors. Liddiard Builders have been busy this week removing the fencing and an old aviary to make way for the new area.

The one you’ve all been waiting for, an update on our exciting new Adventure Play expansion. Huge amounts of work have been undertaken to improve the drainage around the play area, to help make the area less muddy. The equipment is all in place, and we’re just in the process of finishing off the land work. It will be all ready for visitors when we’re able to re-open!
